Fury Motors, a leading multi-franchise automotive group in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro Area, is seeking a visionary and data-driven Multi-Dealership Sales Director (MDSD) to take our four-rooftop sales portfolio to the next level. The Mandate: Drive Strategic & Digital Sales Growth Across 4 Locations
This role is about strategic leadership and execution consistency across all of our dealerships: South St. Paul, Stillwater, Waconia, and Forest Lake. You will move beyond the showroom floor to unify our brand presence, dominate the market, and leverage modern digital tools.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Strategy
Develop and implement group-wide sales strategies to achieve volume, gross profit, and F&I objectives.
Lead, coach, and support General Sales Managers to ensure consistent performance and adherence to sales standards.
Oversee inventory allocation, pricing strategy, and incentive structures to maximize turn rate and profitability.
Maintain strong OEM and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with programs, standards, and certification requirements.
Operational Oversight
Standardize sales processes, CRM utilization, customer follow-up expectations, and lead management across all rooftops.
Develop, maintain, and distribute group-wide reporting and dashboards to track KPIs (volume, gross/unit, closing ratios, response times, etc.).
Ensure compliance with Minnesota statutes, federal regulations, OEM sales policies, and consumer finance requirements.
Partner with Marketing and IT to implement technology enhancements, digital retailing tools, and process improvements.
Performance Management
Analyze rooftop sales performance to identify trends, strengths, opportunities, and areas needing corrective action.
Support hiring, onboarding, and development of high-performing sales teams.
Create and oversee performance improvement plans for underperforming departments or locations.
Design and maintain compensation structures that align employee motivation with profitability and compliance goals.
Customer Experience & Reputation
Drive consistent guest experience standards across all rooftops.
Support resolution of escalated customer concerns and ensure best-practice processes for issue handling.
Monitor CSI/NPS results, online reviews, and reputation metrics to identify trends and improvement needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Service, F&I, and Marketing leadership to ensure integrated operations and shared organizational goals.
Align sales operations with broader company initiatives including digital retailing, compliance, and community engagement.
Serve as a strategic advisor to ownership by providing insights on market trends, operational efficiencies, and future opportunities.
Requirements
What You Bring (The Executive Skill Set):
- 8+ years of progressive automotive leadership experience, including executive-level roles such as GSM, Director of Sales, or equivalent, with multi-rooftop or regional oversight.
- Proven track record of driving sales performance at scale, including standardizing processes, improving lead-to-sale conversion, and delivering measurable volume and profitability gains.
- Demonstrated success implementing digital-first sales strategies, leveraging CRM/DMS platforms, analytics, and KPI dashboards to inform data-driven decision-making.
- Strong people leadership and coaching capability, with a history of developing, mentoring, and retaining high-performing sales managers and distributed teams.
- Exceptional financial and business acumen, including the ability to analyze and influence multi-store P&L performance, forecasts, and sales metrics.
- Deep understanding of dealership operations, OEM compliance requirements, vendor programs, and Minnesota automotive sales and consumer finance regulations.
- Highly effective communicator and relationship builder, with experience partnering with OEMs, vendors, and internal stakeholders to negotiate programs, align incentives, and drive result
