Rate of Pay

 $20.00+ DOE


The Human Resources Assistant will assist and report to our two Human Resources Administrators. The HR Assistant would support all Carter Motors locations and would require travel between dealerships. We currently have 4 roofs across 3 locations – Carter Subaru & VW Ballard, Carter Subaru Shoreline, and Carter Acura Lynnwood. The HR Assistant may also occasionally assist our Payroll and Benefits Administrators as needed. The ideal candidate would have a start in HR whether through hands-on experience or school and understand the basics of the HR function.


  • Answers routine questions regarding policies, benefits, and upcoming events.
  • Reviews and screens new applicants and coordinates on-site interviews.
  • Monitor the hiring process for all candidates and follows up with candidates when a delay is observed. Informs managers and HR Administrators to significant delays in hiring process.
  • Inputs new hires into our HR systems and prepares their new hire packet.
  • Assists with planning and coordinating monthly fun events.
  • Manages training and policy compliance of employees and communicates training needs to the appropriate manager and the HR Administrators.
  • Pulls reports from payroll system and updates HR and Payroll spreadsheets regularly.
  • Coordinates new hire onboarding, orientations, and new hire check-ins.
  • Occasionally receive reports of employee relations issues and relay issue to the HR Administrators and appropriate managers to handle.
  • Assist the HR and Payroll Administrators with filing and various clerical duties, as needed
  • Be friendly, professional, courteous, and efficient when working with all customers and employees
  • Familiarize yourself with department structures & internal procedures for assisting employees efficiently


  • 1 year of experience in HR or a degree in HR required. Degree can be in progress. 
  • Ability to communicate employee’s interests, needs, and requests to management and HR administrators
  • Professional personal appearance and business casual dress code
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of client-care, attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Adaptable to changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screen is required
