Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of product management experience with technical products.
  • Experience managing elements of the product development lifecycle such as product goals, go-to-market strategy, driving requirements, and product launch.
  • Experience working with cross-functional (e.g., Engineering, UX/UI, Program Management, etc.) teams.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in technology or a business related field.
  • Experience attracting developers to new platforms.
  • Experience working in the automotive industry.
  • Experience delivering solutions for end-users and enterprises.
  • Experience with building Android applications.

Our team works closely with creative and prolific engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

In this role, you will help provide first-party and third-party developers an easier way to build and ship their applications across Android Auto, Gearhead (the Android Auto application), and Android Automotive OS (Android Embedded in vehicles).

Automotive industry executives say there will be more change in their business in the next 5 years than they have seen in the last 50 years.

The Android Auto team collaborate with vehicle manufacturers to develop and deliver on this massive opportunity, building on a proven embedded platform to create a leading Assistant-powered, navigation, entertainment, and communication vehicle system, which will be delivered to specialized people-moving devices.


  • Enable developers to easily build their applications for cars.
  • Define the capabilities that developers need to deliver experiences that meet user needs and driver distraction guidelines, while enabling them to take advantage of more advanced vehicle hardware.
  • Define how Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) can customize the application experience in cars so the applications feel tailor-made for the vehicle, while still feeling familiar to users and allowing developers to express their unique brand.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Marketing, Legal, User Experience, and other teams on cutting edge technologies.
